Dr. Laura Dayton

Veterinary Partner

Dr. Laura Dayton has been providing compassionate veterinary care to dogs and cats for over 15 years. A partner at Mill Springs Animal Hospital, she offers a full range of services including preventive care, surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, dermatology and behavior consultations. From a pet’s first visit as a playful puppy or kitten to the golden years of senior care, Dr. Dayton values the opportunity to walk alongside families throughout every stage of their pets’ lives.

With a special interest in dentistry and a strong focus on preventive medicine, Dr. Dayton believes in tailoring care to the unique needs of each pet and their family. She is passionate about building lasting relationships with her clients and strives to create a comfortable, stress-free experience for every patient—she is also Fear Free Certified.

Dr. Dayton earned her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in 2002 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from North Carolina State University in 2010. Her expertise has been featured on PetMD, where she previously contributed as a published author.

Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time with her own animals and embracing the joys of life with her family – husband Drew and 3 kids.

Jana’

Veterinary Receptionist
Jana’ joined the veterinary field in February 2023, beginning her journey as a dedicated veterinary receptionist. Her passion for animals and eagerness to learn quickly opened the door to hands-on opportunities, where she is now able to assist veterinarians and vet techs during appointments and various day-to-day tasks. Jana’ helps ensure both pets and their owners feel comfortable and cared for. She enjoys being part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of animals every day. When she’s not at work, you’ll likely find her reading a page turning thriller book, rewatching her favorite Disney movies, or planning her next travel adventure.

Whitny

Veterinary Assistant
Whitny is a Veterinary Assistant at Mill Springs Animal Hospital, where she plays a key role in supporting patient care—from assisting in surgeries to running appointments. She began her journey in veterinary medicine in 2018, gaining experience as a receptionist, assistant, and in leadership roles. With a strong passion for helping pets and connecting with their owners, Whitny brings compassion and dedication to every interaction. She has a special soft spot for cats and shares her home with two of her own, Kitty and Pumpkin. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and exploring new music.

Ellie Garcia

Veterinary Assistant

Ellie joined the vet med field in July of 2024 after getting her start as a vet assistant, and now she’s the friendly face greeting you at the front desk. A Charlotte native, Ellie has always loved animals and even dreamed of being a veterinarian as a kid. She has a soft spot for exotic pets and shares her home with two cats, Ginny and Miss Coochie, and a spoiled guinea pig.

When she’s not at the clinic, Ellie is usually at a concert, hunting for treasures at vintage markets, knitting something cozy, or watching horror films. She loves connecting with clients and making every visit a positive experience—for pets and people alike.

Xavier Robles

Veterinary Practice Manager

Xavier Robles earned a degree in Zoology from Oswego State University and has spent the past eight years working in veterinary medicine. Much of his career was shaped in emergency and specialty practices in upstate New York, where he developed a strong foundation in high-level patient care, teamwork, and fast-paced clinical environments.

After relocating to Charlotte a little over three years ago, Xavier transitioned into general practice to become a more well-rounded veterinary professional. He is passionate about developing and supporting veterinary staff, fostering positive clinic culture, and delivering exceptional customer service. His diverse background allows him to support both medical teams and clients with a balanced, knowledgeable, and compassionate approach to care.

Outside of the practice, Xavier enjoys staying active and involved in the community by participating in several local run clubs with his labradoodle, Chimichanga. He also plays in a pickleball league and enjoys traveling whenever possible.
